Eric Ambrose - Tutor/EdTech III

Emily Borchers - Special Education Teacher/Tutor

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, a Master’s degree in Special Education, and a Certification in Life Coaching. I’ve been teaching for over 2 decades in a variety of settings. Early in my teaching career, I had the joy of running my own preschool and being my children’s first teacher. From there, I continued working with preschoolers as an Early Intervention SpecialEducator for the state.

It is through my own later diagnosis of A.D.H.D., my advocating services for my own children, and my involvement in the special education services eligibility process, that I feel I have gained skills to work with my students. As an Aucocisco Tutor, my goal is to help my students navigate individualized learning through the development of strategies and to build upon their natural strengths.

Outside the classroom setting, you’ll find me decorating cakes and baking up gluten free treats, thrifting new inventory for my flea market shop, swimming at the spa, and crafting up one of my many art projects.

Andrea Frenz - Special Education Teacher/Tutor

I received my BA in Elementary Education & Special Education with a minor in Psychology from Brooklyn College, In Brooklyn, NY.

I then obtained an MSEd in Special education specializing in Learning Disabilities from Fordham University in NYC.

After teaching in special education classrooms for a number of years in the NYC public school system, my family relocated to Maine. I spent thirty years teaching students with diverse learning abilities full time, in the public schools in Maine.  During that time I continued my professional development to improve my skills in teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and challenges with Executive Functioning, and Behavior,

I worked part-time for a few years in the public school system prior to joining the faculty at Aucocisco school where I currently work as a reading tutor, a writing teacher, and evaluator. I enjoy watching the 'lightbulb moments', as students begin to put the pieces of their learning together, In turn, as an evaluator, I am delighted to find the links to students' learning challenges and help develop a plan to move them forward.
